Mtsyri as a romantic hero in Lermontov's poem

For several years M.Y. Lermontov wanted to write a work in which the issues of courage, love of freedom and courage would be revealed. The poet wanted to create a lyrical hero who would strive to find his place in life and realize his dream. At the same time, the imaginary hero of the work, according to Lermontov, must certainly be a patriot. The idea of a new work that was born in the poet's mind was inspired by Byron's romantic poems.
A trip to the Caucasus inspired Lermontov's idea, which formed the basis of the poem "Mtsyri". The poet's lyrical hero turned out exactly as he imagined him to be.
Mtsyri is a young man who was forced to live in a monastery, where he ended up as a child. The monks introduced the boy to divine services and prepared him for taking monastic vows. They have never been interested in what Mtsyri really wants, what kind of life he dreams of, who he sees himself in it. However, he always aspired to freedom and an independent independent life. Mtsyri is a lonely romantic with a rebellious nature, the vicissitudes of fate were not able to break his inner core.
Many details indicate that the literary hero of Mtsyri's poem is a romantic. The author writes that Mtsyri is a rebellious child of the mountains, he is strong, independent and brave, but he is doomed to loneliness. In the monastery, Mtsyri seems to be trapped by stone walls, suffocating from the monotony of his own life. Freedom is the greatest value for Mtsyri. Like any romantic, he is ready to fight for her until his last breath. True happiness for him is to admire the beauty of nature, inhale the salty sea air and squint from the rays of the sun.
One day, Mtsyri decided to escape from the monastery. He broke free from the captivity of the stone walls and was finally able to taste the taste of freedom. In addition, once free, events from the distant past began to surface in the young man's memory: he remembered his childhood, his parents, his father's house, and even partially his native language. He met a beautiful girl near a mountain stream. This meeting awakened the most delicate strings in the young man's soul. He was homesick and intended to return to his homeland.
Although he had only been free for a day after his escape, it was this day that made him happy. He dies with the thought that his life was not in vain, because he was able to achieve what he had dreamed of for many years.
The poem ends with Mtsyri's death, but for a literary hero, death cannot be regarded as defeat. He managed to escape from the life that the monks tried to introduce him to. Isn't that freedom? Romantic Mtsyri does not regret his death at all, because this is just the price for becoming a part of eternity. Codzienne turnieje i promocje czekają na Ciebie w https://salongier.org/ .
